Specialities
Specialities are a category of ethanol types that have specific properties and features. Organic ethanol, for example, comes from controlled organic cultivation, i.e. it is made from plant materials that are produced in an environment friendly manner, i.e. without use of any chemically synthesised pesticides or fertilisers.
Made from grapes, wine ethanol can be used in the processing of sweet wines.
The specialities category includes the following types:
- F11-BIO-BV organic ethanol in accordance with the Swiss Organic Farming Ordinance and EU regulations (for drinking)
- F15-BIO organic ethanol
- F15-BIO-BV organic ethanol in accordance with the Swiss Organic Farming Ordinance
- F15-BIO-BV-NOP-C organic ethanol in accordance with the Swiss Organic Farming Ordinance / NOP kosher
- F11-BIO-Knospe Knospe organic ethanol in accordance with EU regulations (for drinking)

All F11-designated grades can be used for the processing of alcoholic beverages for consumption.
These grades are enjoying increasing popularity. They are also integrated in cosmetics, and form a natural basis.
Kosher versions of most of the grades mentioned above are also available.
